A Pianist with a passion for the collaborative space
Having participated in many different collaborative settings over the years, Yihan has demonstrated a strong musical vision, technical prowess, and ability to work well with musicians across genres. His deep musical understanding and dedication has often been described by collaborators as dually “inspiring” and “facilitating their musical growth.”
Within the opera space, Yihan made recent appearances in the finals of the Kathleen Ferrier Awards (2025, 2026) and Eastbourne International Singing Competition (2026), and won the pianist prize in the Van der Pump English Song Competition (2026). He is also a Samling Young Artist (2026) and a Leeds Song Young Artist (2026).
Yihan appears annually as a multi-keyboardist with RCM’s Consort 21, which premiers innovative chamber works using historical instruments and on the harpsichord, he won second prize at the Prix Annelie de Man (2023).
Yihan will be entering RCM’s Artist Diploma Program in Collaborative Piano with a full scholarship in 2026/2027.
